Changes we need to know when your patent is granted
- Grant Date
V2: We encourage you to update the grant date as soon as your patent is granted on the platform. We do our best to receive this information automatically in the countries we can, but, unfortunately, some patent offices do not publish this content. The reason why we need the grant information from you is because, most of the patent offices are quite slow when it comes to publishing such information, and often require certain actions a few months after the grant.
V1: We always want you to update the grant date when your patent is granted on your platform. We try to get it automatically in the countries where we can, but unfortunately, some patent offices do no publish this information.
The most important reason we need this from you is that most patent offices are quite slow at publishing the grant information, but often require actions a few months after grant.

Republic of Moldova
Taiwan, Province of China
- Granting Regional Patents, e.g. EPO or Eurasian Patent Office
In regional patents, we need to know both the grant date, but also, which countries you have chosen to select granting. This will inform us of where to renew.
- WIPO/PCT patents entering the national stage
On our platform, you can both upload WIPO patents and mark WIPO patents entering the national stage. This can be done by updating the countries under patent statuses, which are located in the patent details section.
- The Number of Claims
In certain countries at grant, you need to inform us about the number of claims accepted at grant.
Republic of Korea
Changes we need to know when your patent is published
In Hong Kong (HK) and the Philippines (PH) we need to know that your patent is published and, the publication date of when your patent is published.
Changes we need to know when your patent's lifetime has been prolonged
- Supplementary Protection Certificate
- Extension Rights
If your patent is given the right to be extended for more than 20 years of a lifetime, you need to inform us about this.
Things we need to know when you get a new patent in Malaysia or Romania
In Malaysia and Romania, we need you to sign a Power Of Attorney for each patent you own.
Things we need to know when you get a patent in a new country
V2: The below countries will require you to sign a general Power of Attorney. This will allow us to renew an unlimited amount of patents, in the chosen country;

Keeping Things Up to Date
V2: Unfortunately, we do not know when you or your partners change address, Power of Attorney authority or, when someone should move from observer to admin.
V1: Unfortunately, we do not know when you or your partners change their address, change who has the authority to sign Power Of Attorney or when someone gets promoted and needs to go from being an observer to an admin.
